If the keyboard "NumLock" key is enabled on your Gateway laptop computer, you won't be able to use the laptop's built-in number pad. Unlike other models of laptop or desktop computer where the "NumLock" key changes the function of the number pad keys, on a Gateway the pad is just disabled altogether. You can turn off the Gateway Laptop Keyboard "NumLock" function on your Gateway laptop computer by using its toggle button.
* 1
Look for the "NumLock" indicator light on your Gateway laptop computer keyboard. Located directly above the Gateway Laptop Keyboard's number pad, this light will be on when the keyboard lock is enabled.
* 2
Tap and release the "NumLock" key on your Gateway laptop computer's keyboard. This will turn off the Gateway Laptop Keyboard lock for your number pad.
* 3
Confirm that the keyboard lock has been disabled by looking again to the "NumLock" indicator light. If disabled, this light will no longer be illuminated.
