If a story is going to take you or one of your journalists to another state, you're going to want to know what their shield laws are. You might even want to look them up in your own state, but the internet is a mire of information and finding what you need is sometimes a trial.
So in an attempt to help, I dug up a quick and easy map of shield law coverage created by Poynter. It does not offer much background on what the laws are (which might have been useful for a tech-head with no legal background, like me!) but double-clicking the map will provide you with a more details. Poynter invites you to help update and correct their list.
