We are in the process of applying for Commercial Requester Account for access to California DMV records. We plan to use one of the online service providers licensed by the DMV.

I was wondering what others who have used this service may have experienced?

Are there any service providers you can recommend or any we should avoid?

Has anyone had their usage audited by the DMV?

And perhaps most pertinent at the moment, does anyone have any tips as to the best way to fill out the "what do you intend to use this information for" section of the application. Obviously it's for journalistic purposes, but I was wondering if that is the best way to answer to receive the highest level of instant access.
